Sigay, Ilocos Sur — The municipality of Sigay proudly emerged as Champion in the Best Presented Booth category at the Feria de Candon 2025 Trade Fair and Exhibits, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and local identity of its participants.

The annual event, which highlights the rich culture, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit of the 2nd District municipalities, was graced by Mayor Eric D. Singson, Vice Mayor Kristelle Singson, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Candon, Board Members Benjamin Maggay and Fayinna Zaragoza, and the mayors and vice mayors of the 2nd District. Also in attendance were Chief of Police PLTCOL Rodel C. Del Castillo, Candon City department heads, national government agencies, punong barangays, barangay officials, and the esteemed panel of judges including DTI Provincial Director Zaldy Z. Zafra Jr., DOST Provincial Director Engr. Jordan L. Abad, and Candon City Cooperative Development Council Chairperson Efraim Dayap.

Sigay’s booth stood out for its well-curated display, engaging presentation, and authentic representation of the municipality’s culture and products, earning it the top award. Other notable winners included Salcedo (1st Runner-Up), Sta. Maria (2nd Runner-Up), Nagbukel (3rd Runner-Up), and Sugpon (4th Runner-Up). Additionally, Salcedo also took home the Champion award in the Most Innovative OTOP category.

The achievement reflects Sigay’s dedication to promoting local craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and community pride, as well as the creativity and hard work of the participants who represented the municipality with distinction.
