Sigay, Ilocos Sur — The Coffee Capital Town of Ilocos Sur proudly embarked on a Coffee and Agri-Tourism Knowledge Enhancement Journey to the Coffee Capital of the Philippines in Sultan Kudarat on December 13, 2025.
This learning experience was designed to strengthen Sigay’s local coffee industry, expand agricultural practices, and bring home valuable insights that will further empower farmers, boost tourism, and enhance the community’s growing agri-business initiatives.

During the visit, our delegation, led by Mayor Carlo Crisanto Pena Peredo along with the municipality’s Heads of Offices and employees, explored Sultan Kudarat’s farms, production processes, and signature coffee brews. The experience offered a unique opportunity for benchmarking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange between two coffee capitals of the Philippines.
Mayor Peredo expressed gratitude to the host municipality, stating, “From North to South, we shared the best practices, learned innovative techniques, and brought home valuable lessons that will enrich Sigay’s coffee industry and agri-tourism initiatives.”
The visit highlighted the shared love for coffee, culture, and community development, solidifying connections that will strengthen partnerships and inspire future projects for Sigay’s residents and farmers.
As Sigay continues to rise as a destination for coffee lovers and agri-tourism enthusiasts, this journey reinforces the municipality’s commitment to innovation, sustainable farming, and tourism excellence.
